Reinert: w3logistics delivers SAP add-on

All kinds of sausages – that is what Reinert produces at its plant in Versmold. In this case, raw material does not only mean meat. Packaging foils guarantee to maintain the sausages' high quality on their way from production to the clients. This is a challenge for the reception of incoming goods: All producers' data for a large number of foil types have to be verified.

The ERP software used by Reinert had an important drawback: The maximum size of letters selectable by the user was not sufficient – after each scan the user had to step back to the PC to check the captured data.

The Dortmund software company w3logistics provided the solution: All user interaction in the reception area is now handled in a dialogue created by w3logistics, which has been ergonomically optimized in close co-operation with the customer. The solution uses an interface defined by SAP (SAP JCo) to directly access the ERP system's master data. This strategy avoids data replication, which is often necessary when connecting subsystems via interfaces.

The solution dramatically facilitates the jobs of Reinert's employees. Thorsten Flottmann, project manager of the Versmold based food supplier, is also content: "Using w3logistics' intelligent solution we are not afraid of future release changes, and we avoid redundancy of data."
