w3logistics makes the difference...

DMK Deutsches Milchkontor GmbH, a dairy company, uses the warehouse management system w3/max from w3logistics AG at their plant in Erfurt in Thuringia. Production runs 365 days per year and around-the-clock – permanent system availability is guaranteed by w3logistics.

The logistics experts from Dortmund designed and implemented the warehouse management software as well as the control of the materials handling equipment for the new distribution warehouse with 8,700 pallet spaces, which was built by Köhl Maschinenbau GmbH from Trier as general contractor.

The high bay warehouse with seven stacker cranes has direct conveyer connections to production and distribution – from palletizing of the UHT-milk to retrieval for delivery, all transports are automatic. This, together with an efficient control by the warehouse management system, enables a high warehouse throughput. After all, freshness is of utmost importance for the dairy industry. Today's products should already be in the shop by tomorrow.

Aside from dairy products, stacks of empty pallets and packing materials are also stored in the warehouse and made available to production at the right place, just in time and just as needed.

The high requirements of Milchwerke Thüringen are fully met by the w3logistics software. Bernd Ullrich, project leader of Milchwerke Thüringen, expressed perfect satisfaction after the successful acceptance: "The system delivered by w3logistics especially excels at high reliability and good usability, so that we can fulfill the high demands of our customers for flexible and punctual delivery much easier."
