Automotive supplier relies on w3/max

The implementation of a modern computer based warehouse management system that allows retrieval of precise information about type and number of currently stored articles quickly and without manual effort – this was the wish of Nemak Dillingen GmbH.

In the plant at Dillingen, precisely these demands have now been fulfilled by w3/max. The standard product of w3logistics was fully tailored to the customer's requirements and taken into operation less than three months after the start of the project.

As soon as a pallet with engine blocks or cylinder heads is ready, w3/max receives amounts, article and batch numbers via an interface which was implemented by w3logistics. Storage and retrieval are confirmed by radio terminals. This way the articles are automatically subject to continuous stock control immediately after production.

Other features of the system are a module for quality assurance and an SAP interface. The installation and training were done during the company holidays, so that no interference with the production occurred.

After the successful implementation of this project, a second phase was taken into operation in the meantime. This was to accommodate the changed requirements of the customer which resulted from the integration of an additional warehouse and a new quality assurance system.
