15 years w3logistics – 15 years your partner for logistics
It is time – w3logistics AG is celebrating its 15th anniversary. 15 years in which many innovations, technological changes and intensive projects took place, and most important, many trustful partnerships have been established. 15 years that we utilised to develop our know-how continuously and to build up intensive, personal and cooperative relationships to our partners. We would like to take the opportunity to share a view into our past 15 years with you and to give an outlook on the future of our company.
The history of w3logistics started on May 4, 2000 with our founding idea "to make the newest technologies usable for the logistics industry". This motto is also reflected in our name: "w3" representing the World Wide Web and the new technologies involved, firmly connected to logistics. A telematics solution was the start product of our company. Although that product is still part of our portfolio, it no longer represents the core business. At the time after the foundation of the company, the market awareness for our product grew far too slowly, in the midst of the crisis of the Neuer Markt and the German motorway toll disaster, so w3logistics had to find alternatives.
Following the motto "pressure creates diamonds", w3logistics went back to its roots in 2001 and took over the maintenance of warehouse management systems for former customers of the company Quantum that had been closed down. On this basis, in 2003 our first own WMS was developed, which also included a material flow system. This laid the cornerstone for a successful future in the logistics industry.
In the following years, we also opened up other promising business areas and extended our product range. Already in 2005, we added software retrofit services to w3logistics' portfolio. The potentials of this business area were recognised early and have proven to be one of the most promising working areas. Because of our early adoption of this topic, we were able to collect more than 10 years of know-how in this area and have been optimising our processes since then.
In 2012, with the release of a completely modernised version of the warehouse management system w3/max, the basic performance of this software could be extended significantly. Since then, the system has been extended constantly and now offers future customers a highly efficient software that can be optimised for all logistical requirements.
In the past 15 years, w3logistics has developed a whole package for its customers, which outstands in individual support and implementation. For the future we plan to work on exactly this whole package, by optimising and extending it further, while focussing on personal and direct contact to our customers – be it for maintenance, individual software development or logistics support, which just has an eye for your success. Also in the future, we will remain a reliable partner for our customers and will continue to work closely and intensively together with them for the success of their products.
We look ahead to the next 15 years with w3logistics – Your partner for IT & logistics.
