w3/max successfully installed on Citrix XenApp
Two hours of installation time – nothing more was necessary to install the warehouse management system w3/max of the Dortmund software company w3logistics in a Citrix XenApp environment.
The installation became necessary because the logistics service provider Nijko moved into an existing cold store at his new location in Neuenkirchen, but wanted to continue to work with w3/max. The previous warehouse owner has storage buildings at other locations and a central computer centre at his disposal. To minimize migration costs, it was jointly decided to use the existing IT infrastructure – including the appertaining Citrix environment.
As a first step, the w3/max server was integrated into the computer centre of the previous owner, remote maintenance and online access of Nijko's customers via Internet are ensured. With the PCs and label printers available in Neuenkirchen, Nijko can now do business as usual. In additional steps, installation of radio data connection and integration of scales will be carried out shortly.
