Material flow simulation and visualization
Replacement of material flow systems, integration of existing conveyer technique, taking automated warehouses into operation – these are tasks that w3logistics has successfully solved for its customers several times.
With the simulation tool w3/sim, w3logistics AG from Dortmund was able to plan these tasks very intensively right from the beginning, which already paid off in many projects:
At KHS GmbH, a new WMS solution for a high bay warehouse was taken into operation at a single weekend. The plant in Erfurt of the Humana Milchindustrie GmbH uses w3/sim after start of operations as testing environment for further development.
With version 2.0, w3/sim is now available as a separate product. Extensive documentation, an intuitive graphical user interface, and high flexibility ease the realisation of complex logistics projects for planners, suppliers and users of material flow hardware as well as for software developers.
During the development phase, the system layout and the interface logic is first modelled with the simulator. In the following test phase, w3/sim can communicate with the warehouse management system and simulate the reactions of the conveyer technique. This way, the correctness of data contents can be verified and system parameters can be adjusted to useful values early. Additionally, after a successful start of operations, w3/sim is available for tests of enhancements and as visualization of the material flow.
