BORCHERS Borken: Future-proof orientation with w3/max
BORCHERS Borken GmbH is considered an experienced and innovative logistics company with core competence in the fields of transport, storage and system logistics. With its headquarters in Borken in the Westmünsterland region of Germany and around 150 employees, the company provides logistics services ranging from pure transport, classic warehousing and hazardous goods storage to the development of complex logistics solutions.
BORCHERS has entrusted w3logistics AG with the implementation of the warehouse management system w3/max. At both warehouse locations in Borken, the company thus achieves a further improvement of the efficiency of the logistic processes. In addition to the basic functions of w3/max, the Dortmund software house provides BORCHERS with MDE-supported picking and paperless handling of the warehouse processes. With the support of w3logistics it is possible to react even faster and more flexibly to new clients and market requirements. Both through consolidation and possible cross-location storage space optimisations, the storage and retrieval of articles is accelerated and the operational processes are continuously improved.
In order to optimally adapt the logistics suite to BORCHERS, several additional modules have been implemented which are specially adapted to the customer's requirements. Thanks to the hazardous materials handling it is now possible to provide a hazardous materials register with article data, quantities and storage locations for the fire brigade. Thus a safety data sheet can be assigned to each article. The specially developed web interface ensures that stocks and reports are made available for recipients and customers and that the order progress can be transmitted to customers by e-mail. A minimal adjustment at goods receipt means that deliveries can be received at the MDE without having to notify the system of this beforehand.
"Thanks to w3logistics it is possible to make our logistic processes even more efficient and to increase process reliability. w3/max helps us to align our entire logistics in a future-oriented way", says Ludger Venne, managing director of BORCHERS Borken GmbH.
