w3logistics arranges warehouse move at KHS Corpoplast

At the end of December, w3logistics AG can look back on a successful year. The company from Dortmund has conducted not only many interesting projects and successful trade shows and initiated new co-operations, but has also been very strong in doing business with existing customers.

So it also got really thrilling once again at KHS Corpoplast, which has been a maintenance customer of w3logistics since 2008. True to our motto to be more than only a software partner, but to provide complete service to our customers, we supported the company located in Hamburg during their big warehouse move.

The external warehouse of Hamburg's manufacturer of stretch blow moulders had to move, which meant that more than 2.000 materials from a 4,000 m² large area with more than 700 tons of article weight had to be moved across Hamburg. This was a challenging task for the w3logistics AG, especially as there were only four weeks of time for the whole project, starting from the initial planning to the actual execution.

To avoid interruptions of the daily business operations during the whole move, w3logistics installed an online office with access to all necessary systems, including SAP, Outlook and the own software w3/max. Without wired internet connection and a minimal number of available power outlets, the access to all systems could be ensured by 3G connections and at the same time an IT infrastructure was built up in the new warehouse.

75 truckloads had to be moved from the harbour across the Hanseatic city. To ensure that KHS Corpoplast was able to handle urgent orders flexibly during the time of the move, not only shipping documents were printed, but all materials were tracked, so that access to articles for orders was guaranteed at any time (at a pinch even directly from the truck).

By means of the online connection, materials also could be scrapped directly, and stock levels could be cleaned out by audit-proof inventory adjustment postings.

"The move was a collaborative excellence, which would not have been possible without the professional and competent support by w3logistics. Moreover, the project was really fun for everyone eventually because everything went so perfectly well", so the positive conclusion of Kay Teske, manager of materials logistics at KHS Corpoplast GmbH.

We support our customers in all areas and understand ourselves as full-service partner for the whole company. You can also benefit from the competencies of our team and convince yourself of the collaborative conduction of projects with w3logistics.
