News from w3logistics

w3/max successfully implemented at DMK

At its location in Erfurt, DMK Deutsches Milchkontor GmbH has once again decided for the standard warehouse management w3/max by w3logistics from Dortmund. In addition to the control of the material flow system, the software created by the Ruhr area based company now also handles the warehouse for fruit containers.

Already in 2007, w3logistics implemented the control of the high bay warehouse of Deutsches Milchkontor, which operates a total of seven stacker cranes at its plant in Erfurt. Now the management of a warehouse for fruit containers has been added, which cannot directly be operated by the material flow system. w3/max is used to handle the containers in which the ingredients for the production of yoghurt are stored. A special focus was on place-specific storage, as well as on management of best-before-dates and batches. In addition, the system handles the specific processes for incoming and outgoing goods for about 1.000 managed storage places.

The standard WMS by the software company from Dortmund matched the processes of Deutsches Milchkontor quite well right from the start, thus the implementation could be conducted very quickly and promptly.

Uwe Flad, IT manager at Deutsches Milchkontor in Erfurt: "The co-operation with w3logistics has once again worked really well. The introduction of w3/max went off without a hitch and was done in no time at all".
