w3logistics turns 18!
How time flies! This year w3logistics AG celebrates its 18th birthday. We look back on 18 years with many successfully concluded partnerships, technological changes and enormous further development of our know-how. 18 years of innovation and exciting projects. We will be happy to review the years and give you a little preview of the future.
Since its foundation on 4 May 2000, the name "w3logistics enabling technologies for logistics" has been its program. Hardly any other industry has seen such rapid technology changes as in IT. w3logistics AG decided to integrate selected modern technologies into existing logistics systems and focuses on software solutions for the warehouse logistics of medium-sized companies.
In the year of its foundation, the first product was implemented with "w3logistics/TS". The online trace and tracking system covered all functions relating to consignment tracking and could be supplemented by customer-specific requests. With this product, w3logistics achieved a high level of awareness in the logistics environment. This was supported by the LOG-IT Prize of the NRW Ministry of Economics, which was awarded in 2002 with w3logistics/TS and was endowed with prize money of 100,000 €.
A further business area was established in 2003 with the introduction of the company's own warehouse management system "w3/max". With the new product, the first warehouse based on w3/max was successfully put into operation. At the same time, the maintenance of existing logistics systems was started. As a result of the continuous expansion, further customers were acquired and maintenance contracts concluded, creating a stable basis for operation.
In addition to its core business, w3logistics has been regularly involved in research projects since 2010, including the Logistik-Ruhr efficiency cluster. In cooperation with the University of Duisburg-Essen and other cooperation partners, technologically interesting logistics technologies are being researched within the scope of the projects, which are then continuously incorporated into the product portfolio and offer direct advantages for our customers.
In 2013, with the completely new version of our warehouse management and material flow system w3/max, customers were also able to map processes adjacent to the warehouse and control the entire intralogistics centrally.
2015 was a year of good fortune: The 15th anniversary of the company and a record dividend gave every reason to celebrate. The year ended with the highest turnover and the best operating result in the company's history.
The successful development of w3/max S.N.A.P. and the presentation of this innovative image documentation solution at the LogiMAT 2017 in Stuttgart were a complete success and a large number of new customers were acquired.
In 2018, the warehouse management and material flow system w3/max will continue to serve as the basis for future WMS projects and will be adapted for special areas of application with additional modules. In the future-oriented solution w3/max S.N.A.P. new ideas are integrated step by step to meet the specific requirements of the customers by optimally supporting their internal processes.
In the next few years we want to further expand and optimize our Warehouse Management Suite w3/max, as well as not losing sight of our customers' personal contact and individual advice.
