Put-to-Light in use at Fuyao
The German subsidiary Fuyao Europe GmbH of the China-based Fuyao Glass Industry Group deals with the manufacture and processing of automotive glass. Founded in 1987, the company has developed into one of the world's largest glass manufacturers. The product range includes float glass and special processing into automotive glass.
w3logistics AG supports Fuyao with a put-to-light system that communicates with the ERP Microsoft Dynamics NAV via web services. The system was integrated into the customer's existing processes in order to optimize picking and improve quality assurance. A projector is used to illuminate the quadrants on the pallet. An EPP box with panes must be placed on the green illuminated target quadrant so that the order of the boxes corresponds to the required sequencing. If the quadrant is loaded correctly, the next target quadrant is highlighted until the job has been processed in the correct order. The correctness of the sequence number of the panes is checked by automated recording of the barcodes with the aid of cameras and the order pickers are informed of any deviations by issuing an error message.
The Put-to-Light system offers advantages in terms of reducing the error rate and increasing throughput. As the employees are guided by the system via visual signals, the search for the correct position is no longer necessary, the error rate decreases and a higher sequencing speed is achieved.
